New background. No question about it.

That's weird. Usually the driver's home flag is on the roof scoop...

They didn't start with that before this season, this is a photo from either 2011 or 2012.

This must either be from a game or a rendering.

It's heavy HDR

Definitely Mikko Hirvonen (his license plate), definitely 2011 (his only year in the Fiesta). Only question is event. I'm going to guess Australia...

I know, but a couple things still looked off to me. It is a real car, though:
E dit: Kinja'd. Doesn't matter, Dusty knows which car it is too.

2011 for sure. Abu Dhabi was off by 2012 and it's Mikko's Fiesta plate number. Thinking about it you're right, the roof scoop flag wasn't something Ford did back then.

Australia seems right, found this with a quick google search:

Edit: KINJA KINJA KINJA. Really killing me today. Did we lose ninja-delete too?

Yep, that's it. Exact photo just with less HDR-style editing.

It's this attention to detail that has drivers knocking down my door to have me sit with them ;)

My thoughts exactly. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Noted in my "how to be a co-driver that someone actually wants" notebook.

Probably something Mads Østberg brought with him (or Malcolm Wilson thought it was a good idea), he had the Norwegian flag on his Stobart Fiesta in 2011 and his Adapta Fiesta in 2012.
EDIT: corrected the years..

Mads wasn't the only one. Ken had been running the flag on the scoop since the Focus days, along with a few other privateers. Citroen has been doing it since the days of the red C4 (and I mean red, not Red Bull).
